I'm a graduate of Calvin, Johns Hopkins and Cardiff Universities. I've earned an MBA in Finance and a PhD in Economics. My dissertation examined celebrated British economist Ronald Coase's famous Theory of the Firm as it played out in a natural experiment at two very different places in 19th century America--rural Venedocia, Ohio and industrial Pittsburgh. The relationships between company size, social trust, value chains, managerialism, entrepreneurship and transaction costs all occurred in historical reality as Coase had modeled them theoretically.  

I'm a lifelong entrepreneur. I've bootstrapped and solo led companies, and I've partnered with investors and cofounders.  These companies have spanned industries from high tech IT to organic agriculture.

I also served as a Finance Staff Officer and eventually as the National Division Chief for Measurement Research within the US Coast Guard. And I've been a consultant to Fortune 500 companies like insurance giant Aon and health products multinational Bausch + Lomb.

I started this service to instead work directly with the folks who grow our great country's economy. I want to partner with small and mid-sized companies to bring my expertise to bear on their finances and operations. As I've learned through my education and my experience, and as another celebrated British economist E.F. Schumacher has said, small is beautiful.
